In a video posted on his Facebook page on Monday, Sudi promised all the county residents that the region will remain cohesive.

"I want to assure the residents of Uasin Gishu, especially Eldoret that we shall live cohesively and continue with our daily businesses as usual... (Mimi nataka kuwahakikishia wakaazi wa hapa Uasin Gishu, especially Eldoret sisi tutakuwa kitu kimoja, tutashikana, tutaendelea na mambo yetu ya kawaida...)," argued Sudi in part of the video.

The vocal legislator further noted that he has a lot of friends who come from the Kikuyu community noting that he lost several of them who fled to unknown places during the post-poll violence in 2007.

According to Sudi, leaders should not play politics with the lives of Kenyan citizens.

"Issues of politics and issues of lives of Kenyans are totally two different things. (Maneno ya siasa na maneno ya maisha ni maneno tofauti sana)," he said.

The MP who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto further challenged the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to swing into action by probing nominated MP Maina Kamanda who allegedly made inflammatory remarks on Sunday.

Kamanda had claimed that there were members of Kikuyu community who had owned land but were chased away in Uasin Gishu during 2007 post-election violence.

Sudi said if there were those with valid title deeds but were chased away from their land in Uasin Gishu, then they should see him.
