Governor Ali Korane has opposed the passing of Punguza Mizigo proposals.
He said that the proposals by the Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot are not that way bad but they cannot be compared to Building Bridges Initiatives rooted by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
He said that the resistance Ekuro met when he was tried to present the proposals to the Garissa County government is a clear indicator that the leaders are against the bill.
Governor Korane said that the nation needs more practical solutions to the problems facing millions of Kenyans and not Punguza Mzigo.
“We must think of the interest of our people because constitutional changes are not something that one can cause immediate change that will have a great impact on our people,” he told journalists, as quoted by Standard.
The remarks come after Former Prime said that the BBI is the ideal solution for the problems facing Kenyans. He promised to tour different parts of the nation alongside President Kenyatta to seek the support of the proposals.
Ekuru has been faulting Raila and his team for frustrating his bid as he seeks to change the constitution before 2022.
The former Presidential candidate wants the number of Members of Parliament to be reduced as a way of controlling the wage bill.
