Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has said Ukambani leaders and residents fully support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Speaking on Monday when she hosted Ukambani leaders to plan for the BBI rally scheduled for Saturday in Kitui, Ngilu said they are fully behind the report initiated by the task-force that came into existence after the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta, and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“Our support for this process initiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rt. Hon Raila Odinga is unequivocal,” the Kitui Governor tweeted on Monday.
During the meeting, the leaders deliberated on issues affecting the Lower Eastern region and which they feel should be included in the BBI report.
“We deliberated on the issues we need addressed and included in the BBI report as the Lower Eastern region,” she said.
Governor Ngilu who is spearheading the BBI debates in Ukambani, urged residents and leaders to turn up in large numbers and be part of the BBI rally on Saturday.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga and other leaders from across the political divide are expected to attend the Kitui forum.
The countrywide BBI forums have so far been held in Kisii, Kakamega and Mombasa as calls for referendum to endorse the report intensifies.
