Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday spoke for the first time against factions within Jubilee party which have threatened to divide the ruling party.
At Suswa on Sunday, Ruto accused the leaders of engaging in premature 2022 polls, adding that time had come to shun from succession politics.
It's the first time the DP seemingly directed his fury against his own team, which has traded barbs in the past, causing anxiety within the ruling party.
He said that the teams should not distract Kenyans with 2022 polls, adding that they have a mandate to develop the country by supporting the President.
“The debt of developing Kenya should be given the prominence that it deserves. We should not be distracted by either the 2022 politics or the proposed review of the constitution,” said the Deputy President.
“I would work tirelessly to support President Uhuru Kenyatta in empowering Kenyans through the Big Four agenda,” he observed.
He said that leaders should not engage themselves in the rhetoric, adding that politics that do not add value should be discouraged at all costs.
“But leaders have to be honest, and disengage themselves from politics that add no value to the people,” explained Ruto.
While Tanga Tanga supports deputy president William Ruto's 2022 bid, Kieleweke team has been opposing the group, arguing that it's against President Uhuru Kenyatta's wish.
