Having cracked heels is a sign of dead skin on your feet. The cracks are usually caused by a fungal infection, dry skin and putting on poorly fitting open shoes.
The cracks can lead to serious infections which can be dangerous to your health. However, there are some natural ways to deal with the situation at home.
1.Coconut oil
It has got anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties which help your cracked heels heal. Apply the coconut oil to the cracked areas and put on the socks before going to bed.
2. Apple cider vinegar
Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to a half basin of water and soak your feet. Leave them for fifteen minutes then scrub them. Apple cider vinegar is always the best option when it comes to skin exfoliation. It gets rid of the dead skin from your heels and leaves it with the healthy skin layer.
3. Baking soda
Bicarbonate of soda is another name for baking soda which is used to exfoliate the dead skin and sooth the skin. Add the baking soda to warm water and soak your feet in it for fifteen minutes then scrub them. Do this daily and you will see the results within one week.
4. Aloe Vera
This plant is also a good remedy for cracked feet. Scrub your heels and let them dry up. Apply the aloe vera gel to the feet affected by cracks. Leave the gel to dry up and wear socks before sleeping. Wash your feet with lukewarm water in the morning and do this for a week for best results.
5. Honey
Honey is a sweet substance obtained from bees and it is a natural remedy for skin problems. It makes your skin become soft, smooth and glowing. It is also good for those people with cracked heels.
All you need is to add a good amount of honey to some warm water and soak your legs in the solution. Leave them for 20 minutes then scrub gently.
