Seven out of nine unclaimed bodies that have been lying at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Nairobi have finally been identified.
According to a press release sent to media houses the hospital management now wants their families to collect them.
Mama Lucy Medical Superintendent Dr Musa Mohamed said the results were released on Saturday.
"Those identified are Eugine Wabure Wechuli (ID number 31942404), Peter Macharia Mwango (ID 35626948), Samuel Etili Aiyamai (ID 29601734), Daniel Oruru Amuzama (14433995)," said Dr Musa.
Others are Raphael Kwetu Kasamani (25780813), Dismas Leokono (21852126) and Benjamin Boma Wasike (24205386).
"Two bodies are yet to be identified after fingerprints were taken from the bodies," added the Mama Lucy Medical Superintendent.
He reiterated that most of the bodies are victims of road accidents while two cases were as a result of natural illness.
The Hospital management had on September 8 written to homicide detectives to help in identifying the bodies that have been lying at the hospital's morgue for almost four months now.
Dr Musa further said that they are working closely with relevant agencies to dispose of other bodies which have other stayed in the morgue.
He noted that out of 24 other bodies that they have four more which have overstayed and will soon be disposed of after due process.
Relatives of the deceased have been urged to visit the hospital and collect the bodies for burial or disposal who will be required to pay morgue charges during the time they have been in the facility.
