In an exclusive interview with a NTV reporter, Mr Owino revealed that some of the top leaders want to kill other big betting companies so that companies they have shares in can dominate the market.

"According to the information that I have collected from various source, there is a relationship between some of the senior state officers, the Cabinet Secretaries to be precise, the Interior Cabinet Secretary.

"It is alleged that he has a relationship with BetLion and that they want to monopolize the industry and thats why they are killing other industries," said Babu Owino.

Mr Owino argued that all those blocking other betting companies should embrace healthy competitions.

According to him, betting is an internationally recognized activity, thus using ones powers to undermine the rights of others is not good.

The outspoken legislator also came out to defend the betting industries saying that they used to offer employment opportunities to many Kenyan youths.

Up to 15 betting firms have not had their licences renewed by the government over tax evasion claims.
