K24 TV news anchor Rose Gakuo on Thursday hit out at governors for keep journalists waiting for hours before addressing them.
The county bosses had invited members of the press to cover a briefing at their Delta House headquarters but kept the journalists waiting for hours.
When they were ready for the press conference, Gakuo requested to air journalists' frustrations.
In a video posted on Twitter by @Catewakamaru, Gakuo is heard lecturing the county bosses on time management.
She noted that it was unfair for the governors to send an invitation indicating that the press briefing will start at 12:30 only for it to start at 2:30.
“The issue is not the time that your excellencies needed to address the county revenue bill and other important matters. The problem is the media invitation, which indicated that we should be here at 12.30. We have waited for more than two and a half hours. It is really unfair on our side. We do not mind coming here at two if that is the time you will conclude the meeting, a moment’s notice is enough for us,” Gakuo said.
Led by Council of Governors chairperson Wycliffe Oparanya, the county bosses apologised to the journalists, stating that there were issues that needed to be ironed out before addressing the media.
