Speaking at the Kenya International Conference Centre (KICC) in a forum graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, the tough-talking CS said the public was engaged in 47 different dialogues.

"We have had public participation at the highest level where we have had 47 different dialogues which were open to the general public without control, inputs were taken and nobody should say that he or she has been gagged, " the Education CS said.

The CBC has been met with resistance from different quarters with the strongest resistance coming from the top echelons of the Kenya National Teachers Union (Knut).

Wilson Sossion, the union's secretary-general, had claimed that teachers were not adequately involved in the adoption of the new curriculum.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominated Member of Parliament called on teachers not to implement the CBC, saying that it was bound to fail.

CS Magoha maintained that the implementation of the curriculum that has been the subject of controversy will continue as planned.

According to the proponents of the CBC, the curriculum will go a long way in equipping students with practical skills that they can apply after school.
