South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro says that Deputy President William Ruto enjoys support of many MPs due to his development consciousness.
For months, Dr Ruto has intensified his campaigns ahead of 2022 polls, involving hundreds of MPs from both political parties within the country.
But despite launching a host of projects, a number of officials have often distanced themselves from the projects, arguing that they are ghost.
And South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro now says Ruto attracts many MPs because he's able to connect with them easily when it comes to development.
"It is easier to connect with DP William Ruto when it comes to development. He picks calls and listens to our concerns as MPs," he said on Sunday.
He added: "This is why many of us prefer working with him. He understands what we want and I am not ashamed of supporting him."
Mr Osoro is one of legislators from Gusii region leading pro-Ruto campaigns. Almost single handedly, he has been taking on a team supporting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.
In his arguments, Osoro insists that Matiang'i is not fit to contest, saying that Abagusii community cannot be able to give enough votes for him to go for the big seat.
But the team allied to Matiang'i believes that the interior minister is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta given his outstanding record as a minister.
