This might not be common but some ladies have once or often experienced periods twice a month.
Have you ever asked yourself what could be the reasons behind it or talked to your doctor about them?
Well, while it may not be a major cause of concern, having periods twice a month can indicate that you are not in good shape.
These are some of the reasons why you are having two periods in one month as noted by Holly Ernst, PA-C, an obstetrics and gynaecology
1. Uterine fibroid
This infection is primarily characterized by a growth that occurs inside the uterus. It causes heavy menstrual bleeding. Symptoms associated with the disease include frequent urination, pain when making love and low back pain.
2. Thyroid problems
They may also alter your period cycles. Two or irregular periods is an early sign of the mentioned disease. Other symptoms linked to the condition include puffy face, constipation, slow heartbeat rate and pale skin.
3. Perimenopause
It is a condition that leads to menopause. During this period, a woman's hormones undergo drastic changes. This condition can last up to 10 years depending on your hormones. Some women get two periods due to it.
4. Young age
To some young girls, the condition is common. At puberty, some ladies tend to have longer menstruation cycles that make them experience two periods in one month.
