Celebrated TV host Tony Gachoka on Thursday distanced himself from a Twitter account that bears a name similar to his.
The fake account was giving scoops about embattled governor Mike Sonko's case, threatening to ruin Mr Gachoka's reputation as a journalist.
In a tweet, Gachoka denounced the Twitter account, tagging investigative authorities to take action.
"The FAKE ACCOUNT pictured below is NOT associated with me at ALL. I have REPORTED the matter to twitter & Kenyan authorities. @TwitterSupport @FredMatiangi @NPSOfficial_KE @IG_NPS @DCI_Kenya @ODPP_KE @EACCKenya @cbs_ke Fake Account Using my name in @MikeSonko Criminal Matter," he tweeted.
Gachoka is not a stranger to controversy and has been dragged into several career-threatening issues.
Between 2008 - 2013, Gachoka worked as the Director of Protocol in Prime Minister's office due to his closeness to Raila Odinga.
Throughout this year, he has been pictured with Mr Odinga, who he has already endorsed as the successor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr Gachoka also revealed his chat with Odinga's daughter Rosemary, who announced her eyesight recovery on Wednesday.
"Merry Christmas, I just spoke with my sister Rosemary Odinga we had a hearty laugh, it’s just amazing. Am filled with joy & mountains of happiness. To her family ‘where there is great love, there are always miracles’. Be blessed! @RailaOdinga @IdaOdinga @winnie_odinga @Railajunior," he tweeted.
