Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday made an impromptu visit at the Pumwani Hospital.
Dressed as Santa Claus, the governor interacted with patients at the facility and gave them Christmas gifts.
The patients at the facility could not hide their joy as the county boss interacted with them.
“My people, (Watu wangu), as we usher in this festive season to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus, I wish to encourage you all to extend your generosity and kindness, however little, to your neighbours and community," he said.
He added: "Lastly, I wish to sincerely appreciate the Good Deeds Day Foundation of Israel for appointing me as the Good Deeds Day Ambassador for Kenya last year, and the UN Volunteers alongside other organisations for awarding me as the Volunteer Champion of the Year 2019 on December 5th. As Mother Teresa once said, “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” Mungu awabariki nyote (God bless you all).
Sonko is widely known in the city as a man of the people. His generosity and kindness, has endeared him to most city residents.
He runs a foundation dubbed 'Sonko Rescue Team', which helps needy members of the society.
