Going abroad for various purposes especially to secure a job is a great deal but this is not the case with Kenyans in Lebanon.
One of the victims, Mary Njoki narrated on Friday how life has been hell for them after a foreigner won one million dollars in a lottery game in Lebanon.
This sparked a protest with Lebanese nationals calling for the repatriation of all foreigners.
"As we speak, they are burning tyres in a number of roads and to make it even harder, airport workers are among them. We would really like to fly back home and join our families," Njoki told Hivisasa.
Njok, born in Nakuru County local said she has been trying her luck to fly back to Kenya for months but it has been futile citing delays in the Kenyan Embassy in Lebanon.
She observes that life on the other side is tough and she wouldn't recommend any Kenyan to work there.
"Kenyans are suffering here and I can't recommend anyone to work in Lebanon. I request the government to intervene and ensure that we join our families safe and sound. This should be as soon as possible." she pleaded
This comes barely months after a sick Kenyan man was reported stuck in Qatar. The victim, Isaac Kiprotich was assisted but he later died while receiving medication at Kapsabet Referral Hospital.
