Kisumu leaders are calling on the government to take firm action against all those involved in the killing innocent civilians a fortnight ago.
Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o, Senator Fred Outa and Women Representative Rosa Akinyi Buyu, as well as former Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma, are now calling upon the government to make more arrests of the suspected killers of ‘the Nyando Six’.
Together with members of the August House Jared Odoyo Okello (Nyando), Bernard Okoth Imran (Kibra), Mathews Onyango Koyoo (Muhoroni) and Joshua Aduma Owuor of Nyakach; they spoke with one voice wanting proper investigations to be done and more arrest made.
“We know what happened; we will not say Busia people killed Luos but some individuals. We won’t sleep as the government because these are our people,” said Governor Nyong’o.
Governor Nyong’o also noted that the county government will help the bereaved families especially the widows.
Former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma on his side said the national government has an assignment that they should finish as soon as yesterday, adding that more murder suspects at large should all be arrested.
“The national government has the responsibility of what has happened, the six were under Bouncers Association Group and had informed the Busia government they would cross the border,” Ranguma noted.
The leaders joined hundreds of Kisumu county residents on Friday during the joint requiem mass at Boya Primary School in Nyando Sub-County where prayers were held for the Six Bouncers who were brutally killed in Busia last week.
The members of the public who thronged the venue to pay their last respect to the slain six bouncers braved the muddy ground after Thursday night heavy rains.
The six bouncers namely; William Omondi (Sisqo), Elvis Odoyo(chief), David Okeyo, Patrick Kwach, Evans Onyango (Toto) and Richard Odero popular as Nick will be laid to rest on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
They will be buried in Nyando, Nyakach, Muhoroni and Kisumu East Sub-Counties.
