The employee, Dennis Birauli who works at Kisii County revenue office hanged himself early morning using a leso.

According to neighbours who requested anonymity, Birauli who has attempted to commit suicide on several occasions was an alcohol addict.

"Youths in this area are alcoholic. We call upon the chiefs and the police to come on board and rescue our people. Chang'aa brewing in this area is very common," one of the neighbours told Hivisasa.

Shadrack Bilauri, father to the deceased said his son grew up as a disciplined boy only to change character at his adult age.

"He started drinking and carelessly spending. He came home on Monday drunk and asked us where his things were but we could not understand him. He quarrelled the whole day on Tuesday and we took it normally. We came to discover he lost his cash while having fun with colleagues at a chang'aa den. Today we woke up with the shocking news of his ultimate demise," explained Bilauri.

Area Chief Lawrence Omari confirmed the incident and urged youths to share their issues with parents, confidants or leaders for counseling.

"Youths should not die with their problems. I call upon them to share with us leaders. No problem is unsolved. Let them share with close confidants instead of suicide," advised Omari.
