Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has ruled out backing his ODM counterpart Raila Odinga again.
Musyoka has twice; in the 2013 and 2017 presidential polls rallied behind Raila, in the capacity of his running mate, losing both times.
He now says that he is not planning to do it for the third time, and would rather part ways with the former Prime Minister before the 2022 polls.
The former Vice President says that it will equally be impossible to convince him to again throw his weight behind Odinga.
"Even if my brother says let us support this other person I will ask; how many times will I support my brother Raila Odinga? It's impossible. (Hata kama ndugu yangu atasema tusuport mwingine huyu nitauliza nitasuport ndugu yangu Raila Odinga mara ngapi? Haizewekani)," Kalonzo said in an interview with Citizen TV, Sunday.
The Wiper leader also stated that he will not get into any alliance if it will not give him the ticket to run for the presidency.
He claimed that his bid for 2022 is inevitable, adding that he should not be expected to again be hesitant in going for the top seat.
"There will be no hesitation this time round. There will be no formation of alliances unless their final outcome is Kalonzo being in the ballot box. (Safari hii hakuna kusitasita ama kufanya coalition hii ama hiyo kama coalition haitakuwa eti mwisho wake ni eti Kalonzo atakuwa kwa ballot box)," .Kalonzo noted.
His remarks come at a time when Raila remains silent on his 2022 plans, given that he has not declared interest in any seat.
