Speaking on Monday while campaigning for Eliud Owalo, Mudavadi questioned the presence of some governors in ODM candidate Imran Okoth's campaigns.

For the better part of the weekend, Mr Odinga hosted governors among them Charity Ngilu, Alfred Mutua, Kivutha Kibwana, Anne Waiguru, John Nyagarama among others.

But Mudavadi now says Mr Odinga is keen to protect governors with questionable integrity, some who are on investigative agencies' radar.

“I saw many governors here. Most of those governors have misappropriated county government resources and have their files at the DCI and EACC. They are seeking for protection from him (Raila) against the ongoing investigations against them,” said Mudavadi.

The governors campaigned on the pretext of the handshake, with Waiguru lauding Mr Odinga for relative stability in the country.

Mudavadi also accused the opposition of absconding her duties, arguing that it's difficult to differentiate those in government and opposition.

"It's difficult to differentiate between ODM's John Mbadi and Jubilee's Aden Duale. It's hard to know who is the official leader of government business," he said.

Kibra campaigns ended on Monday. The constituency will on Thursday elect the person supposed to take over from Ken Okoth.
