Majority leader Aden Duale on Thursday met Eritrea Ambassador to Kenya Beyene Russom.
The Garissa Town Member of Parliament and Russom, who is also the Dean of African Diplomatic Corps met at Duale's office at Parliament Buildings, Nairobi.
In a tweet, Duale noted that ''We discussed issues of common interest encompassing strengthening the relationship of our two countries and supporting all efforts to bring peace and security in the Horn of Africa,'' wrote Duale.
Duale further thanked the ambassador for the support Eritrea gave Kenya in its quest for the United Nations Security Council non-permanent seat position in 2020-2021.
Duale, who is a great supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration and the Jubilee Party noted that the relationship between Kenya and Eritrea will be enhanced through trade and other economic activities.
On his part, Russom noted: ''I am very delighted and honoured to visit today the Majority Leader of the Parliament of Kenya, Hon Aden Duale in his office in the Parliament. I thank my dear Honorable brother for the lengthy and fruitful exchange of views."
