A suspected patient with Coronavirus has been quarantined at the Kenyatta National Hospital, Citizen reports
The patient was taken to the hospital just after landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) from Guangzhou this Tuesday morning.
The Kenya Airways while confirming the case through a statement, said they reached decision to have the patient kept away from other people after a consultation from the Kenya government
.“Decision to quarantine the passenger was reached by the Kenya Government port health authorities stationed at JKIA,” the statement reads as seen by Citizen Digital.
The suspected patient was travelling from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China, and had been cleared and declared safe for travel by the China Port health authorities based at the airport.
"The Kenyan passenger had been cleared to travel by the China Port health authorities at the Guangzhou Airport," KQ said as quoted by the Star.
Reports from Kenyatta National Hospital says the patient was a student.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) in a statement on Monday, said there were limited cases of human-to-human transmission outside China.
So far, WHO is aware of one case of human-to-human transmission of #coronavirus outside China , in Vietnam. That’s still one case too many. But we’re encouraged that so far we have not seen more human-to-human transmission outside China . We’re monitoring the outbreak constantly," read their tweet.
