Kisii County Governor James Ongwae on Wednesday hinted at the possibility of setting up a county talent academy.

On Wednesday, Ongwae speaking when he received Mogonga PAG secondary school volleyball team who are the champions in the just concluded secondary school games held in Kisumu said the talent academy school will help nurture youths talents. 

"I wish to confirm my government's commitment to ensure various talents are nurtured in the county. Mogonga PAG secondary volleyball team has made the county proud and therefore I will ensure a talent academy is set up to help in nurturing youths talents," said Ongwae.  

The Governor also noted that the school has in the past produced top athletes who have represented the country internationally.

 "I congratulate the team for equally excelling in academics and seeing more than 100 students join university in the last four years. This is a well-deserved glory that needs to be honoured," said the county boss. 

He gave a personal donation to support the team as they prepare for regional games slated for Arusha, Tanzania.

Ongwae was accompanied by his Deputy Joash Maangi who also opined that the devolved unit will continue supporting talents.
