National Assembly Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohamed has accused Deputy President William Ruto of 'living in the past' instead of adjusting to the new reality.
In a tweet on Thursday, the Suna East MP wondered why DP William Ruto is still furious about the recently concluded Kibra by-election in which his preferred candidate McDonald Mariga lost.
Mr Mohamed said the DP seems not to be aware that Imran Okoth, who was backed by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the polls.
"A day after Raila is declared winner, you’ll wake up and if lucky to find a media microphone before you, you’ll still tell him to “accept defeat”. See, almost a week after Kibra election you’re still telling him to “accept defeat”. You’re not even AWARE he WON, and that you LOST!" he said.
In a tweet on Thursday, Deputy President William Ruto took Mr Odinga head-on, accusing him of sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto insisted that Odinga's decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta is not genuine, adding that his main intent is to destroy the Jubilee party.
"Waheshimiwa, the real SABOTEUR is your master the people's conman who uses deceit to divide/destroy parties even Uhuru's Jubilee," read part of his tweet.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ruto had also fired salvos at Mr Odinga, forcing a host of MPs allied to handshake politics to fire back.
“Tinga/his party’s trail of political conmanship/deceit from Kanu thro’ CORD to NASA and now heading to Jubilee; and litany of violence from 82’ coup to Kibra cannot be hidden behind BBI,” said Ruto.
