A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders have responded after Deputy President William Ruto launched an attack on Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju.
Taking to social media on Sunday, Ruto took a swipe at Tuju and accused him of working as chief strategist for the opposition.
"So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of the ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition!! Maajabu (Wonders)" the DP tweeted.
He was reacting after a local daily reported that Tuju has been recruited to ODM party leader Raila Odinga's 'kitchen cabinet' following the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale laughed off Ruto's remarks and told him that Raila's party has competent officials, and, therefore, does not need expertise from 'outsiders'.
"The ODM party has enough advisors. It does not need outsiders to advise on anything. Mr. DP, stop panicking," Etale tweeted.
On his part, ODM youth leader and blogger Dikembe Disembe accused DP of hypocrisy and reminded him that Jubilee, where Ruto is Deputy Party Leader, recruited Ababu Namwamba when he was still ODM Secretary-General.
Namwamba vigorously campaigned for Uhuru and Ruto in the 2017 polls and after they were reelected, he was appointed as Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"How did ODM SG AbabuNamwamba become a Jubilee choir chorister? Nyani haoni kundule (The monkey cannot see its ass)" Disembe tweeted.
