The DP on Monday, last week claimed that some top State officials are plotting his assassination.

This came after the emergence of a letter purportedly addressed to Uhuru by a Mt Kenya Cabinet Secretary unwilling to attend the meeting where the alleged plot was being made.

Kalonzo who said that he has had a glimpse of the letter making rounds on social media argued that Uhuru's silence over the issue is proof that something is amiss.

"I have seen a copy of the alleged assassination letter on social media and noticed that the president has not said a word about it," he said.

The former vice president made the remarks during an interview on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night.

The letter named CSs Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health), James Macharia (Transport) and Joe Mucheru (ICT) as some of the officials who have been attending the meetings.

In their defence, the CSs admitted attending the meetings at Hotel La Mada alongside other Mt Kenya leaders, adding that they only discussed development.

On Wednesday, State House Secretary of Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi was arrested as DCI officers close in on the suspected authors of the letter.
