Pressure is mounting on Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'ifrom a section of Jubilee politicians who are now calling for his sacking.
While speaking during a press conference Monday at Parliament buildings, politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire CS Matiang'i and threatened to impeach him if he is not sacked.
" We want to call on our President to reign on his Cabinet Secretaries. It is time the President gives his voice on this issue because it is really bad. It is like we are in a kindergarten where children do whatever they want," said Soi MP Caleb Kositany as quoted by People Daily.
On his part, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei accused Dr. Matiang'i and his Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho of allegedly using their dockets to intimidate some politicians even as he accused them of playing partisan politics.
While warning the CS of dire consequences if he allegedly continues to undermine Dr Ruto, Belgut MP Nelson Koech hinted that they will impeach the "Super CS".
" This issue of him seeing us MPs as nothing is very unfortunate because today, Parliament can decide to send you home. And we will send you home if we decide in this House that you do not deserve to be a CS anymore," said the lawmaker.
The politician's calls on Matiang'i come barely three days sincere his sentiment last Friday in Kirinyaga that he is only taking instructions from President Kenyatta.
