West Pokot Governor Prof John Lonyangapuo has said that his county is ready to showcase its talents on matters comedy and entertainment.
The county boss on Tuesday hosted officials from the popular comedy show, Churchill, ahead of the show set to be staged in the county, weeks after his promise.
He expressed confidence that the meeting with show's advance team led by Special Projects and Partnerships Manager Ken Waudo will soon materialize into a show in the county.
"Hosted Churchill Show advance team led by Ken Waudo, Manager (Special Projects and Partnerships) in preparation of a show in West Pokot. This county is a haven of talent and am glad the show will expose these talents," Prof Lonyangapuo tweeted.
The nation will also be watching to see if the humourous governor will keep his initial promise to personally perform in the show should the plans materialize.
Speaking in an interview on one of the local television stations two weeks ago, the county boss expressed his readiness to personally take the stage were the show to be taken to his county.
"If Churchill wants me, even now, all roads should lead to West Pokot every Friday. I have a hall with a capacity of 3,000 people. Or how many does he expect?" Lonyangapuo was quoted by the Standard.
The governor is known for his jokes and hilarious attacks on his political rivals, among them the 'kijana fupi round' (Short round young man) jab at West Pokot politician Dennis Ruto, whom he also nicknamed 'Mulmulwas' (dung beetle).
