Lucy Mbula Katua, a 32-year-old woman suspected of killing a woman, 30, in Yatta will be remanded for seven days.

This is after the prosecution requested Kithimani law courts for more time for the police to conduct investigations into the incident. 

The accused who had appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe was not allowed to answer to the charges.

She will now spend seven more days at Matuu Police Station and appear in court again on July 16,  2018.

Mbula is accused of hitting and killing one Pascal Kathini after an argument on Monday in Kithimani area.

The two women had been embroiled in a fight when the accused allegedly picked a log and hit the deceased on the head.

Kathini reportedly lost her life while receiving treatment at Matuu Level Four Hospital as she had sustained serious injuries on the head and legs. 

The accused is said to have fled after committing the crime. 

However,  police were able to trace her in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
