The Kang'o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County cemetery has three graves dug by Julius Ochieng. The last major assignment by Mr Ochieng was the preparation of Fidel Odinga's grave.

He stated that that was his most demanding project based on Fidel's position as Raila Odinga's son and personal achievements in society.

He was also the leader in the preparation of Raila's sister Margret Akinyi Oginga's resting place in 1996. In 1999, he had another mission at the same location when preparing Jaramogi's last born son, Shadrack Osewe Oginga's grave.

Surprisingly, he offers this services for free despite the fact that his team charges Sh400 for every foot of a standard grave measuring eight by four feet. The reason he does it for free is that he is a relative to the Odinga's.

However, the team are given a meal comprising of chicken then followed by traditional brew. The requirements are used to traditionally cleanse the grave and those who dug it.

"I am a relative at this place and I cannot demand payment. I do it as part of contribution and obligation as a member of the family," Ochieng told the Standard during the final preparation of Fidel's burial site.
