Speaking during an interview on NTV's Sidebar show on Tuesday, Muluka said that the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) should probe the matter to ascertain Ruto claims.

He noted that this is not the first time a lawmaker has claimed his life is in danger, adding that it will be sad if anything happens to the second in command after reporting the matter to the DCI.

“We have had assassinations in this country since 1965. Some of these assassinations have been attended to by some of the most horrible civil unrest. This is not something to be taken lightly,” he said.

Muluka, however, asked Ruto who is considered one of the front runners in the race to State House in 2022, not to take advantage of the current political situation to pursue his agenda.

He further said that the investigations will reveal the hidden lies in the allegations only if the matter is addressed with the seriousness it deserves.

The DCI with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has identified the source of the fake letter which sparked the DP's assassination claims.
