President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday reiterated his stand on delivering his promises before he completes his second and final term in office.
Speaking at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa County, Uhuru said that he decided to celebrate national days on a rotational basis with the aim of showcasing the diversity existent in the nation.
He said that the rotational celebrations give every county a chance to show what it can offer adding that the national holidays give the residents more reasons to feel they are part of Kenya.
“A few years ago, my administration made the decision to celebrate National Days on a rotational basis. In this way, we celebrate the diversity of the nation and show that while we are many, we are one; one nation, one people, “ he said.
“This new tradition also allows us to appreciate the rich diversity of our country, and, in particular, the positive contributions being made under our devolved structure of governance,” he added.
Uhuru also steered clear of the Building Bridges Initiative in his speech.
He spoke of the strides the Jubilee government has made so far affirming that his plan to transform the lives of Kenyans is on course.
