Political analyst Herman Manyora has predicted that Deputy President William Ruto will stay put in the government until the end, despite pressure to exit from his position.
The DP has been under pressure from fellow politicians to resign over claims of defying President Uhuru Kenyatta's calls against early campaigns, with his allies continuing to politick.
Manyora has also been of the opinion that its only while outside that Ruto will manage to fully prepare himself for the 2022 general election, where he is eyeing Uhuru's seat.
But speaking on Saturday, the commentator said that chances are high that the DP will most likely remain put for fear of losing the privileges and benefits he is currently enjoying.
Manyora added that Ruto can only predict more harassment, considering that he is already being allegedly assaulted while still part of the government.
"He knows that power is sweet, there is some warmth that power brings, which if you move out its easy for you kudenguliwa (to be dealt with) like I've said before. So, he has not taken that option and is unlikely to take it perhaps," he said on his Take It or Leave It political analysis channel.
At the same time, he added, Ruto is feeling that his efforts towards helping the government take over will have been wasted should he opt-out.
"He has not done it because he reckons he is part of those who formed this government, which is true," he added.
