Besieged Migori Governor Okoth Obado skipped Thursday's Building Bridges Initiative meeting convened by his fellow governors.
Mr Obado, who is serving his second term, has often made minimal appearances on matters to do with the Orange Democratic Movement party.
In 2018, he accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of masterminding his predicaments but the two have since reconciled.
The Migori County boss is facing murder charges for the death of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Thursday's meeting brought together Governors Amoth Rasanga, John Nyagarama, Prof Anyang' Nyong'o, Cyprian Awiti and James Ongwae.
"We are appealing to our people and stakeholders to read the report, understand its recommendations for active and fruitful engagements during a multi-sectoral stakeholders' forum slated for January 10, 2020, in Kisii," Ongwae said.
"The meeting will be attended by National Leaders, several Governors, Senators, MPs, MCAs, elders, religious leaders, women and youth leaders and other professionals from the entire Nyanza region. The event will be graced by former Rt. Hon. Prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga and other dignitaries," he added.
Governor Ongwae, who issued a statement, did not give any information about the whereabouts of Governor Obado, who is part of the Lake region team.
