Renowned television news presenter Anne Kiguta challenged Deputy President Dr William Ruto to declare his wealth on Sunday during the inaugural edition of her 'Punchline' programme.
In spite of the journalist's spirited attempts to have the country's second in command declare his wealth, the deputy president refused to do so, asking whoever is interested in knowing his worth to follow the due process.
"If you want to know the wealth William Ruto has, you just follow the law. Apply. Apply and say I want to know the assets of William Ruto and his wealth," said the DP.
Ruto insisted that he had nothing to hide and had no problem with anyone applying to know his wealth.
Anne Kiguta put it to the deputy president that the process of applying to know what the DP is worth is endless and that her attempts at making the application had yielded nothing substantive.
The wealth of the DP has long been a matter of public interest with television hosts challenging him on the matter without much success.
The interest in his wealth has been fueled by claims from his detractors that he acquired what he owns through dubious means, claims that he has strongly rejected.
