Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who pleaded with unknown kidnappers to spare the life of Mr Ben Kiptoo, a primary school teacher from Tebe, Kapyego Ward is in mourning.

Murkomen has confirmed that Mr Ben Kiptoo has been found dead.

"Sadly Mwalimu Ben Kiptoo never made it. He was found dead inside Chepchoina forest. Matter under probe. My condolences to his wife, children and the entire family. RIP." he wrote in a statement shared across his social media.

In a tweet on Friday morning, the Majority Leader of the Senate revealed that the teacher was abducted barely a week from the death of his Personal Assistant (PA) Benson Kiptire. 

On Thursday through his Facebook account, Murkomen had pleaded with the kidnappers to spare the life of Mr Kiptoo. He further revealed that Kiptoo was abducted by unknown people on Wednesday. 

The kidnappers were holding him at Chepchoina Forest. However, they had not made any demands or revealed why they abducted him. 

"I have received disturbing news that Mr.Ben Kiptoo, a teacher from Tebe, Kapyego Ward who is currently teaching Napeki primary school in Trans Nzoia county has been missing from Yesterday 11am and is believed to have been abducted by unknown people. The latest tracking shows he is inside Chepchoina Forest. I am also informed he called a few minutes ago expressing concerns about his life. If you are involved I really beg you to spare the life of Mwalimu Kiptoo. Have mercy on him for the sake of his wife and children. Please," reads Murkomen's message.
