The police officers were allegedly waiting to arrest Nyoro after he allegedly caused chaos earlier in the day after he stormed a catholic church at Gatui, Murang’a where fundraising was ongoing and clashed with Nominated Mp Maina Kamanda.

The MP was demanding to take over the ceremony from Kamanda and invite leaders to speak as the elected MP of Kiharu constituency.

Hon Nyoro, however, declined to step outside RMS offices and insisted on sleeping at the VIP lounge to avoid being arrested.

"I will sleep on the carpet, if they want to come for me let them storm this station (RoyalMedia Services)" he said.

Speaking on behalf of Nyoro, his lawyer Kandara MP Alice Wahome, who was also present at the scene termed the imminent arrest an act of impunity.

“The police are the ones supposed to notify arrest. This is impunity happening outside the media,” she said.

Wahome added that it was against ethics for police to attempt to arrest her client at night stating that instead they are supposed to notify the speaker of the National Assembly to warrant his arrest during the day.

The Kiharu legislator was in for an interview with one of the RMS TVstations when the police stormed.
