Bahati Member of Parliament Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri has come out strongly in defence of Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia over claims that his docket has huge amounts allocated but little to show.
In an article two days ago in one of the mainstream media dailies, the CS was blasted over claims that he is not performing.
The article goes further to state that aside from expanding the road network, the commissioning of the SGR to Naivasha is another major achievement of the ministry under Macharia’s watch but the CS has been at pains to explain how the mega projects he has been launching will benefit taxpayers.
However, addressing media in Nakuru on Friday, MP Kimani Ngunjiri hit out at those faulting CS Macharia.
According to Ngunjiri, various infrastructural projects among them the Standard Gauge railways have been initiated under CS Macharia.
He added that those advocating for the ouster of CS Macharia are corruption-minded people who are focusing on how to make quick money.
“There are several projects that have been initiated by CS Macharia and those calling for his ouster are just but corrupt cartels,” said Ngunjiri.
CS Macharia’s portfolio has been getting bigger and bigger. In addition to Transport and Infrastructure, President Uhuru heaped praise on his Housing and Urban Development, Public Works as well as the Shipping and Maritime Affairs dockets.
