Former Kathiani Member of Parliament Wavinya Ndeti has denied claims that she criticized popular Kenyan musician, King Kaka, over his viral video dubbed 'Wajinga Nyinyi'.
The allegations against the former Machakos Gubernatorial candidate emerged on Saturday after a Twitter handle with the name '@WavinyPress ' alleged to be associated with her sent a message that condemned King Kaka.
The politician, however, distanced herself from the Twitter account citing that she only has one Twitter handle which is @Wavinya_ Ndeti.
She further appealed to the Social media users to ignore any other account. According to the politician, the fake account is meant to tarnish her image as a leader.
“I only have one Twitter account which is known to everyone, it is not clear to me why some people are using my name to talk about things I don’t know,” she said.
“I believe the account is operated by individuals who are out to ruin my reputation and so I distant myself from anything posted under the aforementioned handle. I have reported the matter to the police to take quick action,” she added.
Wavinya nonetheless pointed out that interested parties should have contacted her to confirm the authenticity of the tweet.
“It is wrong for the media to use fake tweets to paint me in bad light. They should have contacted me before believing these fake tweets,” she said.
Wavinya is apparently yet to listen to the viral song which highlights bad leadership and corruption in the country.
