Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale, who doubles up as the leader of the majority in the National Assembly, has been enumerated.
Donning an orange reflector jacket, the outspoken legislator was counted yesterday, Saturday, at his palatial home in Garissa County in the evening after enumerators came calling.
Duale revealed that he had been counted in a series of tweets.
"With census officials at my residence in Garissa County. #Census2019 #CensusKenya2019, " he tweeted.
In another tweet, he weighed in on why the once in a decade exercise was important.
"The #CensusKenya2019 is the most credible source of information on Demography, Economic Activity, Literacy and Education, Housing and Household Amenities, Urbanisation, Fertility and Mortality, Religion, Migration, Disability and many other socio-cultural and demographic data, " another tweet read.
The head count kicked off on Saturday amid concerns over technical glitches and delays.
Aden Duale has been at the forefront of impressing upon Kenyans why they they should participate in the exercise.
In a bid to ensure participation, the government ordered the closure of social joints on Saturday and Sunday.
North Eastern Kenya leaders have called on their residents to ensure that they are counted, saying that participation would go along way in increasing resource allocations to the counties in the region.
