DCI boss George Kinoti on Sunday confirmed that the investigations are underway to determine the truth behind the alleged grabbing of the land.

The probe kicked off after killings that were witnessed at Kihiu Mwiri.

The two government officials have been linked to firms behind the purchase of the illegal land in the area.

“It is a case I felt from the word go that something not right was hovering. We are still on it. It doesn’t matter how long. We will ensure justice,” said Kinoti.

Several witnesses have since linked the two senior government officials and others to the grabbing of the 1,288 acres owned by Kihiu Mwiri Farmers Company.

The court has been probing four directors namely: Zakary Chege Kiratu, Peter Kimani Kuria, Josphat Kibe Nyoike and Paul Muhuhi Bernard with the illegal acquisition of the land in the region.

The detectives have been digging deeper into the matter following the killings in area. Macharia and Iria are expected to defend themselves in regard to the court cases.
