Speaking on Monday as he publicly commissioned borehole water at the Shauri Moyo Administration Police Camp, the PS said that police officers were doing a great job in securing and ensuring Kenyans go about their business without fear.

"The ones who make us sleep are these ones. The ones who make our country function. The ones who made children wake up and go to school today, " PS Kibicho said.

He called on Kenyans to support what the police do noting that better collaboration between the public and the police will better service delivery.

Kibicho acknowledged the difficulties and neglect that the officers were facing as they dispensed their duties, saying that the government will aggressively pursue an agenda of improving their welfare and standards of living.

KIbicho added that the government is committed to ensuring that police continue to draw house allowances and that they get a comprehensive medical cover.

In the ongoing police reforms, he noted that the Kenya Police Service and the Administration Police Service would merge their common duties, saying that specialised assignments would be left to the AP officers.
