Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions after Kenyatta University students were left with no other option but to pack their belongings and leave the school on Tuesday evening.
This comes after the university was closed until further notice following students' unrest.
Videos doing rounds on social media showed the students exiting the school in large numbers.
Kenyans online expressed concern over the security of the students arguing that some of them did not have a place to go as the closure of the school was abrupt.
A section of them pointed out that the security of the students should have been prioritised as some of them do not live near the school.
A good number of the students residing in the hostels are first-year students who some of the social media users argued might not be familiar with the areas near the school.
A video of one student who was desperately calling for his mother to send him fare to travel back home due to the worsening situation also touched the hearts of many.
The students had earlier on during the day engaged police officers in running battles. The students are demonstrating against the order to use the flyover at the institution among other issues.
Here are some of the reactions.
