Winnie Odinga, daughter to ODM leader Raila Odinga, has reacted to an amusing video widely shared online showing villagers kneeling before Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

The Ugandan president is seen in the video giving out handouts while sitting down by a roadside, as he is cheered on.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Winnie appeared to suggest that there was no difference between those villagers, and people who cheer political leaders in church donating money.

"Some do it by the roadside, others do it in church. Same coin, different sides," she tweeted.

Odinga's intervention is consistent with the view of opposition politicians who have taken issue with politicians donating huge amounts of money in churches.

Her father has in the past called for those making huge donations in churches to come out clean about the source of their money.

"We need to hold the bull by its horn, which individual can be having that kind of money to dispense? Having delegations at your place every now and again,  paying for their transport and giving them kiinua mgongo, it is the impunity of the highest order," Raila said.
