Television host Tony Gachoka has sensationally claimed that Deputy President William Ruto and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen are at war with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a tweet on Friday, the controversial journalist claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has severally confided to him over troubles at State House with his lieutenants.
A local daily on Friday published a story in which Dr Ruto is linked to alleged sabotage of the president's administration, a move that has almost paralysed government operations.
"@kipmurkomen good morning, I wish to confirm that I have spoken to the President severally & DP Ruto & you are fighting him @StateHouseKenya in & out of Parliament. Kenyans Uhuru & his deputy are at war," Gachoka claimed.
Mr Gachoka was responding to Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, who had refuted contents of the story run by the Daily Nation.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet senator insisted that the working relationship between the President and his deputy is unquestionable, adding that correlation in government is smooth.
"Planted, Fake& divisive. I am the Leader of Majority and We don’t have Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke there. Majority Leadership is a team.
"We have our brothers&sisters in the Minority who are contemptuously being mocked and ignored in this story. Speaker of the Senate is an innocent umpire. IGNORE," he wrote.
President Uhuru Kenyatta's working relationship with Ruto has been a subject amongst their followers, with Dr Ruto dismissing Uhuru's decision to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
