It was pomp and colour at Eldo-Baraka School in Eldoret as pupils, parents, and teachers celebrated what they termed as the school's best performance in the just-released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) examination results.
The best pupil at the school, Bol Jok Bol scored 417 marks out of 500.
Speaking at the school's premises on Monday, the second-best pupil Hellen Aluong who score 410 marks said it was through hard work, thorough revision and putting God first that made her perform well.
“I want to thank God, teachers, and parents for this exemplary performance, they accorded me the support I needed,” said Aluong.
She hopes to join Pangani girls High School and thereafter be a patrician after university.
Eldo-Baraka school Director Doris Khatete said they had improved in the overall performance this year compared to last year.
The school which is based in Kapsoya estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town had a mean score of 365 compared to last year’s 362.
This is the best mean score they have ever gotten since the inception of the school.
“We thank God for the results which were not gotten through a silver platter but hard work of teachers and pupils,” said Dr Khatete.
She noted that their target next year is to have a mean score of 370 marks and above and also having more pupils scoring above 400 marks.
