Arunga has been making news lately after admitting that she was accessory to her husband Quincy Timberlake's murder of their son and attempted to protect him from the law.

But pastor Joseph Hellon Onyango who has been accused of introducing Arunga to cultism has come out to clear his name, saying that he is not cultic in the first place.

Social media has been awash with claims that the latter, using his Finger of God Church recruited Arunga into cultism, when she joined the church in 2010, claims Hellon has refuted.

“There is nothing cultish about my church. I am controversial and I do things differently. Our messiah was controversial. Preachers who are not should ask themselves if they are really working for God,” he told the Sunday Standard.

The latter was close to both Arunga and her husband, before they moved to Australia and had even picked her as his presidential running mate at some point.

The church earlier in the year changed its name to Kingdom Embassy International, after years of controversy and investigations by the police.

Arunga was on Thursday handed a ten year sentence by an Australian court, which was immediately suspended on parole.
