Dr Aukot and his team, are in the process of dispatching the proposed Punguza Mizigo Bill to county assemblies for debate and subsequent voting.

High Court, however, blocked any debate on the Punguza Mizigo Bill, until a case filed opposing the move is heard and determined. The process will kick off once the case is over.

However, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, on Wednesday dismissed Dr Aukot saying the party will not invest resources to compete with him.

According to Sifuna, the party knows well it's enemies and will unleash when the time comes. Already, ODM has opposed the Bill, arguing that public participation was not done.

"This attempt to reduce the debate on constitutional amendment to "attention grabbing politics of survival" by @dailynation is laughable. As @TheODMparty we know our competition. It's not third way. No matter how hard you try to fatten a lizard it will never become a crocodile," he said.

While most politicians have opposed the Bill, Dr Aukot is, however, optimistic that at the end of it all, MCAs shall back it for the next step.

"We shouldn't be worried about the "system" because we know what drives them. We should be worried that Judicial officer could easily be compromised to make such irrational decision even flouting the very civil procedure law under which the petition was filed," he said.

For Punguza Mizigo Bill to have a lifeline, the team must ensure that at least 24 county assemblies support it before it's tabled in Parliament.
