A section of governors from Mt Kenya region have hinted at organising a meeting to popularise the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report in the region.
The chairman of the Central Region Economic Bloc (CEREB) Francis Kimemia who doubles up as the governor for Nyandarua pointed out they were planning on meeting other leaders from the region so as to create a united stand on the report.
He, however, withheld details of the time and venue that the meeting will take place.
Kimemia further revealed that a BBI forum may be headed to the region soon.
“We want to meet with MPs and Senators from the region so that when the national BBI forum comes to region, we can speak with one voice,” Kimemia stated in Nairobi on Monday.
According to Kimemia, the governors in the bloc support the report and would like to take part in shaping it.
“We support the document and want to play a part in fine tuning it,” he added.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru added that they would like to include the interests of the region in the report.
“We want to ensure the wishes of the region are incorporated in the final document,” she noted.
A similar rally was held in Kisii County last week. The rally was presided over by Opposition leader Raila Odinga, Anne waiguru and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i.
