President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran could reconsider the move if countries party to the nuclear deal that was struck during the Obama administration meet their commitments as set out in the deal.

Rouhani said that scientists had been instructed to feed gas to the centrifuges on Wednesday.

There are fears that Iran is aiming at a nuclear weapon in the resumption of the enrichment of uranium.

Under the nuclear deal, that was underwritten by world powers, stopped the Islamic Republic from enriching uranium which was a key part of what was agreed to.

The move by Iran is in response to the Trump administration decision to pull out of the nuclear deal.

Donald Trump unraveled the deal, saying that it did not go far enough in addressing the threat that Iran poses to global security.

The United States of America president announced the reinstatement of sanctions on Iran.

Trump has been keen on arm-twisting Iran to agree to negotiate a new deal but Iran has adamantly refused.

President Obama, the nuclear deal's chief exponent, said that it removed the danger of Iran getting a nuclear weapon as it granted inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) access to Iranian faciities.
