Homa Bay Women Rep Gladys Wanga has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, Wanga alleged that Ruto paid leaders who attended the Naivasha retreat. He insisted that the DP has been working behind the scenes to frustrate President Kenyatta as he seeks to leave behind a legacy upon completion of his second and final term in power.
"The DP should come out clear, he is undermining the President while pretending not to be undermining him," she said.
She also said that Senator Murkomen Kipchumba was behind the scheme to take lawyers to Naivasha. Wanga affirmed that the allies of the second in command are being used to frustrate the President.
"It is clear when you take a section of MPs and pay for them. Those MPs are not paying from their pockets to live in Naivasha. And when you see Senator Murkomen leading the team and the group of people that were there surely we are mature in politics to know that the retreat was paid for by the Deputy President," she claimed.
Nairobi Women Representative, Esther Passaris urged the DP to work with President Kenyatta until he completes his second and final term in government.
“At the end of the day even the Deputy President has the moral obligation to support the agenda of the President wholeheartedly, " she opined.
