Speaking to members of the Kenyan press, the outspoken politician called on Uhuru to ensure that his administration treats the Kenyan people fairly as there will come a time when he will not be president.

He held the view that the country was being run in a manner that was feeding the feeling that people were being unfairly treated.

"Tomorrow Uhuru you will not be the president, somebody else will the president. Kalembe could also be president... So if they steer the country the way they are steering it so that people start seeing as if they are being unfairly treated this country will not be at a good place (Kesho Uhuru hautakuwa president, kesho mwingine atakuwa president, hata Kalembe nikakuwa president pia.. Kwa hivyo wakiendesha Kenya vile wanaendesha watu waanze kuona ni kama wanaonewa hii nchi itakuwa mbaya), " the politician said.

A section of politicians has claimed that they are being mistreated because of their political positions.

The arrest of embattled Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been criticised by some as a case of mistreatment by the state.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is in his second and final term as president and is expected to hand over the reigns of power after the 2022 general elections.
